If you survey the art that has been created over the eons by countless civilizations depicting “Jesus of Nazareth”, you will soon come to the realization that as time went on, Jesus took on the “image” of those who created the works of art. That is a perfect summation of what we continue to do today in Christianity. Maybe not always in art, but in philosophy or theology and even pop culture. We morphe a “Jesus” of our own desires and “image”; one that suits our own purpose or agenda. It is nothing short of creating another god.
