An interesting parallel is found between Joseph and Jesus (to add to the many that are found, see my article “Servitude to Royalty-The Suffering Servants”) in that Joseph sees God’s plan for Him to suffer the things he did to preserve life, “You planned evil against me; God planned it for good to bring about the present result”, and “Tell my father all about my glory in Egypt”. The same is true of the Messiah, as he said himself (of the prophecy that was given), “Didn't the Messiah have to suffer these things and enter into His glory”.
