Unleash the Beast

This is kind of funny, and I don’t mean it to be taken too seriously, but it's kind of ironic (or something along those lines). I love the Hebrew language, and like many other languages it has a numerical value system by utilizing its letters. There is a lot of information and neat pictures about God and many biblical truths just in the numerical aspects of the letter values.
Anyway, I am not a drinker of these “power” drinks like Red Bull, NOS or any of the like. As I was at the county fair last year, there were more T-shirts marketing these drinks than I had ever seen in the past. Why people feel the need to play into the hands of large corporations marketing schemes to make a cultural expression of “individuality” is beyond me, but that is another subject.

I noticed a particular brand called Monster, with its slogan of “unleash the beast.” If that alone isn't enough to make your hair stand on end, but that is not where the strangeness ends. The letter vav is the 6th letter of the Hebrew alef-bet. Thus it has the numeric value of six (the letter is shown above). Notice the logo of the Monster drink. If you use your imagination you can see three vavs. While I confess that the sum of three vavs used in this way is only eighteen, putting them together still is 6-6-6, although not six-hundred sixty-six as we would understand it (if you were to write six hundred sixty-six in Hebrew you would not use three vavs). Either way it is interesting, and even more curious when Revelation says this about the number, “…the name of the beast or the number of its name. This is where wisdom is needed; those who understand should count the number of the beast, for it is the number of a person, and its number is 666Rev 13:17-18.
Regardless, its kind of creepy.
